Jai Hanuman Jai Bajrangbali - 12 Aug 2013
I would like to begin with a picture that my mother gave me before my exams, for motivating me to study. It says, Effort and Hard work plus Sincere Prayer equals to Grace and Blessings from God which leads to our Success in life.
I would like to share a story of a boy called Manu. Manu was a farmer and a great devotee of Hanuman. One day, Manu was driving his bullock cart, which was filled with rice bags. Suddenly, the wheels of his cart got stuck in the mud. Manu started praying to Lord Hanuman, Oh Hanumanji! Please come and push my cart out of the mud.
He prayed and prayed. But God never came! Manu became dejected and started crying. Suddenly, his eyes fell upon a book. As he opened the book, he came across a saying, which read, If you stand near a well and say, Oh well! I am thirsty, please give me some water, you will get nothing. You have to lower the pot into the well and pull it up. Human effort is necessary.
This saying rang a bell in his mind. He went back to his cart and started pushing the wheels with his maximum strength and chanting Jai Hanuman Jai Bajrangbali, I am trying but You are my inspiration; I will push but You be my strength. Jai Hanuman, Jai Bajrangbali. He continued praying as he was pushing his cart. He pushed and pushed and out came the wheels of the bullock cart from the mud. Manu happily prayed and thanked Lord Hanuman.
This story shows us that if we make sincere effort, nothing is really impossible. God helps those who help themselves. Gods grace guides our every effort, though we may not be aware of it. As we strive to do the best we can, Divine Grace will prompt us and support us at every step. Therefore we should never give up and always keep trying!
